Code of Conduct
Race Team Code of Conduct
The purpose of this code is to establish the expectations of the club in terms of the public cycling behavior of its riders. The NN Bike Club proudly supports rider development and enjoyment of the lifestyle of cycling, and the race team’s role in this mission will be carried out by its racers. As a member of the race team, riders are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct at all times, especially when wearing the team uniform.
Safety First
Racers will abide by traffic laws and wear helmets during all rides. During training rides, the centerline will not be crossed. NN bike club riders will encourage other riders to follow the same safety guidelines. These same rules apply to our off road racers.
Education
In support of rider development at all levels of cycling, the NNBC encourages its members to share the rules of the road (or the pack, or the trail) with the new members and riders around them. Especially in the case of group road riding, members are expected to explain echelons, pacelines, and safety in the pack to newcomers in an encouraging and helpful way.
Encouragement and Spirit of the Sport
Despite differences between the race team members and the other members of the NNBC in terms of preferred type of riding, we all share the simple enjoyment of riding bikes. The race team will be respectful and encouraging of other types of riders and of each other. All categories of racers deserve congratulations and respect for their achievements.
Support for the Club
The NN Bike Club Race Team will be present in supporting all events of the NNBC. We are committed to enhancing the events to the best of our collective ability, and are happy to offer diversified skill sets to help make the NNBC events successful and enjoyable.
We, the undersigned, agree to the Code of Conduct as outlined here both in letter and in spirit. We will ride within these guidelines wherever we are on our bikes.
